Distributor and importer of sporting apparel,, has an opportunity for a Trade Marketing and Brand Activation Specialist with at least 3 - 5 years experience in in trade marketing, activations, events, or experiential to join their team based in Somerset West.
As a Trade Marketing & Activation Specialist, you will bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution across the sporting and running ecosystem. Your mission is to drive national retail visibility, support commercial sell-through, and build unforgettable consumer experiences. From managing our Brand Ambassador Programme to optimizing retail merchandising systems, you'll ensure a premium, consistent brand presence across all consumer touchpoints.Requirements:
3 to 5+ years’ experience in trade marketing, activations, events, or experiential.
Marketing Experience within sports, FMCG, retail, lifestyle, fitness, or performance brands.
Experience working within retail and distribution environments.
Strong organisational, planning, and execution capabilities.
Experience coordinating events, promotions, and activations nationally.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally
Experience in running, endurance, fitness, or sports industries will be advantageous.
Experience working with multinational sports or lifestyle brands will be advantageous.
Exposure to sports retail, technical footwear, performance apparel, or nutrition categories will be advantageous.
Experience with park runs, marathons, sporting events, or community-based will be advantageous.
Activations
Experience working with field teams, promoters, or brand ambassadors will be advantageous.
Understanding of sports consumers and running community culture will be advantageous
Computer literate (MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel and Google Workspace, Canva or basic design platforms)
Knowledge of event and activation planning tools will be advantageous.
Knowledge of reporting and retail feedback systems will be advantageous
Social media and community engagement platforms will be advantageous
Hands-on and execution-driven.
Strong relationship-building and networking ability.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Creative thinker with ability to generate innovative activation ideas
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Digitally aware with an understanding of how retail, experiential, and social engagement Intersect in modern brand building.
