Industry: Export Trade (FMCG, Food & Beverages, Fresh Produce, Wine & Alcohol, Building Supplies)
Lead and grow a team responsible for selling products into Africa, the Middle East, and Indian Ocean Island markets. Must understand international trade, sales strategy, and managing high-performing commercial teams. Lead a team of Business Development Managers who operate in multiple international markets.
Education & Requirements
• Matric plus a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field
• Valid driver’s licence and passport
• Clear criminal and credit record
• Willing to travel internationally approximately every 6 weeks (about 10 days per trip)

To perform well in this role, you should have:
Sales Leadership Experience
• At least 6 years’ experience managing sales teams, ideally in international or export markets.
• Proven experience growing revenue and achieving sales targets.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
Commercial and Financial Skills
• Strong understanding of profit margins, budgets, and financial performance.
• Ability to assess deal profitability and commercial risk.
• Experience managing pricing strategies, contracts, and rebates.
Export and Industry Knowledge
• Good understanding of export trade and international markets.
• Experience working with products such as FMCG goods, food and beverages, fresh produce, wine, alcohol, or building materials.
Negotiation and Relationship Management
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Comfortable dealing with senior clients and high-value contracts.
• Ability to build long-term relationships with international customers.
Data and Systems
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to use data and reporting tools to guide decisions.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Business Intelligence tools such as QlikView or Qlik Sense.
