Senior Commercial Experience
• Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a senior commercial, sales, or export management role
• Proven responsibility for international markets
• Direct accountability for revenue, margins, and profitability
• Demonstrated authority in commercial decision-making
International Export Trade Expertise
• Hands-on experience selling into Africa, the Middle East, and/or Indian Ocean Islands
• Strong understanding of export pricing, Incoterms, logistics, and market risk
• Exposure to currency fluctuations, payment terms, and debtor risk
• Experience managing distributors, agents, and key international customers
Sales Leadership
• Proven experience leading and managing sales or business development teams
• Track record of achieving results through teams, not as an individual contributor
• Ability to coach, motivate, and performance-manage senior sales professionals
• Comfortable managing teams across multiple regions and time zones
Commercial & Financial Acumen
• Experience managing and influencing large budgets (±25% of annual sales)
• Strong understanding of margins, deal profitability, and commercial risk
• Confidence working with finance on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
Negotiation & Deal Management
• Proven experience negotiating high-value, complex international contracts
• Comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers and key accounts
• Ability to structure deals that balance volume, margin, and risk
International Travel
• Willing and able to travel every 6 weeks for approximately 10 days per trip
• Valid passport and driver’s licence
