Financial ManagerPIETERMARITZBURGLooking for a Financial Manager, reporting to the Managing Director with 4-6 years of experience at a senior level. Responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and providing strategic insights to drive financial performance.
Reporting to: Managing DirectorSeniority Level: Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp)Type: PermanentAbout the role:The Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This includes managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Financial Manager will also provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making and drive the company’s financial performance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting process.
    • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for financial strategies and decision-making.
    • Prepare financial models and projections to support business planning and strategy.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, stock control, intercompany loans, and cash flow statements.
    • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and management account reviews.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability and liquidity.
    • Develop and implement cash management strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
    • Identify financial risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate them.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies.
    • Communicate financial performance and insights to the executive team and directors.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Matric
  • A completed accounting-related degree with SAIPA registration will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with Pastel Accounting Software
  • A strong understanding of intercompany transactions
  • An understanding of BBBEE
  • An understanding of payroll and procedures associated with payroll

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity, ethical standards, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments.
